Homecoming 2016 brings huge crowd
Rolla High School had its biggest homecoming in many years, with a sale of 501 tickets. In addition to the high attendance at the dance, the Bulldog football team defeated the Waynesville Tigers, known to be one of the school’s biggest rivals. The score was 40 to 14.
Chloe Myers, a senior, was crowned 2015-2016 Homecoming Queen Friday night at halftime. Senior Nathan Nordwald was crowned 2015- 2016 Homecoming King Saturday at the dance. The flower girl was a Rolla Middle School principal Stephanie Grisham’s daughter Lexi Grisham. The crown- bearer was a RHS counselor, Sarah Kaelin’s son Matthew Grisham.
Nordwald joked about what he will do as king.
“I want to thank Student Council and everyone for this honor. As king I hope to make life better for the school. I’ll start by declaring that the student body should be allowed two servings of fries at lunch time,” Nordwald said.
