Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks to throw down for Super Bowl XLVIII
The biggest stage of the NFL is set. Two teams, the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks, are preparing themselves for one of the most viewed programs on television, the Superbowl.
These two teams were the respective winners of their conferences; The Broncos won the American Football Conference (AFC) and the Seahawks won the National Football Conference (NFC). Now they will be facing off against one another on February 2nd at the Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, in Super Bowl 48.
The Denver Bronco’s finished the regular season 13-3 and are now at 15-3 including the postseason wins over the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots. Their opponent, The Seattle Seahawks finished their regular season also finished 13-3 and moved to 15-3 with wins over the New Orlean Saints and the San Francisco 49ers. Both these teams being in Super Bowl 48 are somewhat of a dream game for the football fans who have been following the NFL this season.
Offense vs Defense. This is what makes this a “perfect game” for football fans. The Bronco’s lead the league this year in total offense averaging 457 total yards per game and lead in passing yards with 340 yards per game while the Seahawks lead the league in defense. The Seahawks only allowed 274 yards per game and 170 yards passing per game this regular season. With Peyton Manning at the helm of this destructive offense barking out his almost patented “Omaha”, Richard Sherman and the “Legion of Boom” will be put to the test in this final clash.
In the past super bowls where the number ones went head to head, number 1 offense vs. number 1 defense, the defense has prevailed 4 out of the last 5 times they’ve met. While this should worry the Bronco’s fans, there is still hope because the one time the number 1 offense won, it was the largest margin of victory(over the Broncos ironically) in these powerhouse matchups.
So will hard-to-deny statistics be the victor of the evening, or will the football god’s favor another offense once more in Super Bowl 48? Only time will tell, and we will all be anxiously waiting for the fateful night of February 2nd; the Denver Broncos vs. the Seattle Seahawks.
