Bulldogs net 7 goals in blowout win over Pacific
In what may be the hottest game, temperature wise, the Bulldogs will play all year, the Rolla soccer team opened their season with a victory over the Pacific Indians.
It took almost 40 minutes for the Bulldogs to find the back of the net but had many chances to score. Finally, at the 38′ mark, senior captain Jarret Gabriele scored to put Rolla ahead. On the following kick-off, the Bulldogs retained possession of the ball immediately, and went down and scored again, this time off the foot of junior Evan Moore. This would conclude the first half as Rolla lead Pacific 2-0.
In the very first minute of the second half, junior Mohammad Alamaldiem scored his first goal of the season to make the score 3-0. Three minutes later, Gabriele netted his second goal off of a rebounded shot. Next to follow was a pair of beautiful free kick goals from junior Gabe Stanislawski to push the lead to 6-0. In the 67′ with most of the varsity squad on the bench, sophomore Lane Mabe recorded his first career goal to set the score at 7-0, where it would remain the rest of the game.
The Bulldogs, 1-0, will travel back to Pacific next week for the Pacific Tournament.
