This year, the school welcomes a new principal, Dr. Jim Pritchett. The first day of school is always a little bit daunting for students and teachers alike, and being the new principal might elicit the same feelings, but having taught at the middle school a few years ago, Dr. Pritchett already knew some of the students, which made the transition a little bit easier. As the school adapts to new policies and changes, so far everything seems to be working out well.
“The first day was great, everyone was really helpful, and it was really helpful to see some familiar faces too,” Dr. Pritchett said. “So far, especially the cell phone policy seems to be working out. Everyone has been following the guidelines as we’ve laid out.”
One of the new changes to the schedule is Pride time advisory, a modification Dr. Pritchett is looking forward to as the year progresses.
“Advisory will be interesting to see how that works out. I’m excited to see its potential,” Dr. Pritchett said. “It’s going to be nice to give students another way to connect with their teachers and give teachers the opportunity to connect with the students.”
