Elizabeth Condray has been working as a teacher for the past 22 years, but plans to retire at the end of this school year. Throughout her time at Rolla High School, she has shown true dedication to both teaching and influencing students.
“I felt a calling, and I love English, so I became an English teacher,” Condray said.
During her last year at Rolla High School she was selected by the National Honor Society as the “Teacher of the Year.” Although Mrs. Condray was unable to attend, she claims receiving the award was “one of the greatest honors of [her] life.”
Mrs. Condray is perhaps one of the most informed teachers in the district, when it comes to ManBearPig. She practices appropriate precautions, but also encourages her students to be courageous.
“I’ve seen signs posted all around, but I live fearlessly,” Condray said.
Not only is Mrs. Condray a role model in respect to safety, but also in respect to commanding the English language.
“I’ve been speaking probably since I was 18 months old,” Condray said.
Throughout the time span she has been speaking, she has also put extensive efforts into developing the perfet sentence: “What time’s dinner?”
At the closing of the 2011 school year, Mrs. Condray will be leaving us after a long career of teaching. The possibilities are infinite and the future is wide open for the super woman that she is.
“The list is so long I wouldn’t know where to start,” Condray said.
