Coffee is a staple everywhere now, you can even buy it canned. A controversy remains, however, amongst society about the drink’s importance. On one hand, people argue it is wonderful and addictive. On the other, some say that it is their life fuel. So, the question remains, how do I learn to like coffee? I asked this same question, and after using my method, I now enjoy coffee. A good starting place is finding flavors you like: chocolate mocha, french vanilla, toffee, or hazelnut. There are endless flavor combinations that can enhance your drink experience.
When I was younger, I was always confused why adults drank coffee, I thought it was gross and bitter. Everyone always says, “Oh, it’s an acquired taste.” Why would you drink something bitter to acquire its taste? Then, when I started high school, I was finally allowed to drink coffee. I started with the sweetest coffee— filled with caramel, milk, and anything I could to mask the taste of coffee. It was amazing! It tasted like a dessert and made me feel energized. I finally understood the hype.
After an abundance of sugary sweetness, I finally started to like coffee. Nowadays, I don’t need a blended drink that’s more milk than coffee. I still enjoy this, but I don’t need it. I love going to Seven Brew for my coffee because there’s such an endless array of customization. Everyone is bound to discover a drink they like. You can measure the sweetness, brew a million different flavors, and experience a warm feeling of belonging in your journey to becoming a coffee connoisseur.
If you want to like coffee, find your flavor. Start off sweet, then you can slowly lower it as you adapt to the original flavor. Most importantly, do not get a drink with an excessive amount of caffeine.
