District Wide Holiday Show
Students from Rolla High School, Rolla Junior High School, and Rolla Middle School will be performing in a spectacular show titled “A Night of Holiday One-Acts” this Thursday, December 12th. The director of the high school show, Kelli McNeven, is looking forward to the performance.
“I’m excited about the holiday show! It’s a fun opportunity to showcase all of our performers from fourth grade up to twelve grade. This year is especially exciting, because we have high schoolers directing the junior high and middle school show. This is brand new this year and I think it’s been great!” McNeven said.
The director of the junior high school show is Riley Stevenson and the director of the middle school show is Lyndsi Blakley, both of whom are high school students at Rolla High School.
“Last year I asked Mrs. McNeven if Riley and I could student direct something, so she gave us these projects. I read about thirty scripts before choosing one for them to do, and then we we held auditions. We’ve been working on it for about a month and a half,” Blakley explained.
The performers in The Holiday Show are very talented. Blakley was surprised by how well her performers did their roles.
“The kids were amazing. They all listened to everything I asked of them and they really reciprocated it on stage. They are all crazy talented for their age level. They really blow away everyday. I usually walk in very stressed out and very worried about what they’re about to do, but they always achieve what I want them to do and sometimes even more,” Blakley said.
The holiday show will be on Thursday December 12th at 7:00pm at the Rolla Middle School Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $7 for adults. They can be purchased at the door or online at https://www.showtix4u.com/events/15291 .
